Pure 5G explained
With the introduction of Pure 5G to the Afrihost product offerings, we can offer our clients a more expansive network coverage as an affordable alternative to Fibre and DSL.
5G is a fifth-generation wireless cellular/mobile network that is much faster than previous network generations such as 3G and 4G. Like its predecessors, 5G is also wireless, which means easier and quicker setup.
5G’s high speed and low latency connectivity open doors to new possibilities as it can transmit data with little delay, resulting in a better connectivity experience.
Pure 5G is Afrihost’s 5G offering that runs on the MTN network, which means you get the coverage where there is MTN 5G coverage. All you need is a 5G SIM and an MTN-approved CAT6 5G router. There is no installation required as 5G is wireless. You may need to set up the APN on the router if your router is not preconfigured for Pure 5G.
You can read the article How to configure the APN on your ZTE 5G device for an easy-to-follow step-by-step guide.
5G is much faster than its predecessors (4G, 3G etc). It has a lower latency and less interference. It requires no installation, so there are no installation or setup costs.
You can sign up for Pure 5G on the Afrihost website.
If you need assistance with How to sign up for Pure 5G please read our Help Centre article for further guidance.
