How to import your domain email account to your Gmail account

If you prefer to use Gmail, you can import your Afrihost domain emails into your Gmail account.

You can import your old domain emails and continue to sync any new incoming domain emails with Google.

How to import your domain email account:

  • Go to
  • Log into your Gmail mailbox.
  • Select the gear icon to access settings.
  • Select ‘Settings’ from the drop-down options.

  • Select the ‘Accounts and Import’ tab at the top.

  • Next to Check email from other accounts, select ‘Add a mail account’.

  • A popup window will appear, enter your full domain email.
  • Click ‘Next’.

  • Select ‘Import emails from my other account’.
  • Click ‘Next’.

  • Enter the mail settings for your domain.

    Username: Full domain email
    Password: Email password
    POP Server Settings: mail.yourdomainname
    Port: 995

  • Check box ‘Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server’.
  • Check box ‘Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail’ (recommended).

Uncheck this box if you are using Non-SSL settings. When using Non-SSL settings, select Port 110 from the Port drop-down.

  • Click ‘Add Account’.

  • You will be notified that your domain mail account has been added to your Gmail account.
