How to secure your Wi-Fi network

Follow the tips below to protect your network from unauthorised access.

  1. Create a unique password for your router. (Change the default password from admin)
  2. Change your network SSID name.
  3. Enable network encryption (There are several encryption methods including WEP, WPA, WPA2).
  4. Upgrade your router’s firmware.
  5. Enable the router’s firewall feature.
  6. Disable the WPS feature.

What is SSID? SSID stands for Service Set Identifier. It is the name of your Wi-Fi network.
