How to disable WiFi on my existing Huawei Fibre router
Disabling your WiFi when it is not in use can help secure your network from attackers and help prevent WiFi wardrivers, neighbours and guests from detecting and using your WiFi without permission.
- Log into the router’s web-based interface configuration page.
- Open your internet browser and enter the device's IP address to access the router.
- Enter 192.168.3.1 in the browser search bar.
- Hit enter to search.

- This will take you to the Huawei log in page. Log into the router with the password.
- Click ‘Log In’.

- In the Huawei router’s home dashboard, select ‘My Wi-Fi’ from the menu at the top.

- Toggle the ‘Wi-Fi’ button to disable your router's WiFi.
- Select ‘Save’.

If ‘Prioritize 5 GHz’ is disabled, you will have to enable or disable both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks, respectively.
- Select ‘Save’.

- On the next page, you will have the option to select ‘After restarting, your router will turn on Wi-Fi automatically'. This means that the next time you restart your router, the WiFi function will be enabled automatically.
- Untick ‘After restarting, your router will turn on Wi-Fi automatically’ if you do not want WiFi to be enabled after a restart.
- Select ‘Save’.

- Setup is now complete.
To enable your WiFi again, connect your computer to the LAN port of the router, and log back in to enable the WIFI using the steps above, respectively.
