How to export a MySQL database via cPanel

Log into cPanel via ClientZone
  1. Log into ClientZone.
  2. Click on the ‘Hosting’ tab.
  3. Select your domain on the right hand side.
  4. Click on the ‘Website Manager’ button.
  5. Now select ‘Log into Website Manager’.
Check if a database is available to export

Before you can export a database, we recommend you do a quick check to see if one is available.

  • Scroll down and click on ‘MySQL Database’.
  • Any database that is available will be listed on this screen.
  • To continue, click on the home button at the top of the screen.
Export your database
  1. Click on the ‘PHPMyAdmin’ option.
  2. You’ll see the database available for export on the left hand side.
  3. Select the database to continue.
  4. Now click on the ‘Export’ option to continue.
  5. Select your preferred Export Method.
  6. For this example we will use the Quick option.
  7. Make sure that the Format is set to SQL and click on the ‘Go’ button.
  8. You database will be downloaded to your computer.
