How to update your Huawei router’s firmware
Keeping your router’s firmware up to date is essential for improved performance, stability, and security. By staying current with firmware releases, you can unlock the router's full potential, benefit from enhanced features, and protect your network from potential cyber threats.
- Connect your computer or mobile device to the Wi-Fi network of the router.
- Enter http://192.168.3.1 in the browser's search bar.
- You will be directed to the router's login page.
- Enter the password of your router.

- On the home screen, select ‘More Functions’ from the menu at the top.

- Click on ‘Manage updates’ from the menu on the left.

When Auto-update is enabled, your router can automatically detect new updates for the time period you specify. If a new update is detected, your router will download and install it automatically.
- Enable the ‘Auto-update' toggle to update automatic updates.

- Click on the ‘edit icon’ to set the update time.

- You can schedule the updates to occur between a specific time range.
- Save the settings.

The manual update option offers you the freedom to check for router updates whenever you prefer. If there are any new updates available, you can opt to manually download and install them at your convenience.
- Click ‘Update Now’ to check whether new updates are available for your router.
If your router's firmware is up to date, you may encounter a message that reads, "You are already using the latest version."

- If new updates are available, click One-click update to perform an online upgrade.
Please DO NOT switch off the router or disconnect any cables while the firmware update is in progress, as that may damage it'.
