What speeds can I expect on Wireless LTE?
The MTN (Pure Wireless) network averages up to 40Mbps on 4G and 246Mbps on 5G. The Vodacom Wireless network averages up to 35Mbps on 4G and up to 200Mbps on 5G. The Telkom Wireless network averages up to 40Mbps on 4G.
Pure Wireless Uncapped
20Mbps Pure Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 100GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
50Mbps Pure Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 150GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
100Mbps Pure Wireless:
- Once you reach 250GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 20Mbps.
- Once you reach 500GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 10Mbps.
- Once you reach the threshold of 1TB, your connection speed will be limited to 1Mbps for the remainder of the month.
Wireless Plus (MTN):
- Once you reach 250GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 50Mbps.
- Once you reach 500GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 20Mbps.
- Once you reach the threshold of 1TB, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
Vodacom Wireless Uncapped
20Mbps Vodacom Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 100GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
50Mbps Vodacom Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 150GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 8Mbps for the remainder of the month.
100Mbps Vodacom Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 300GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 10Mbps for the remainder of the month.
Telkom Wireless Uncapped
20Mbps Telkom Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 100GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
50Mbps Telkom Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 150GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 8Mbps for the remainder of the month.
100Mbps Telkom Wireless:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 300GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 10Mbps for the remainder of the month.
Wireless Plus (Telkom):
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 600GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 20Mbps for the remainder of the month.

To ensure the sustainability and quality of our network for all Clients, MTN as the underlying network provider may implement traffic shaping based on network congestion levels, particularly during peak hours (typically between 18:00 and 23:00).
Network shaping may affect download and upload speeds, latency, or prioritisation of certain traffic types such as video streaming, file sharing, and P2P traffic.
