What speeds can I expect on Wireless LTE?
The MTN Network averages up to 10-150Mbps. Telkom's Network averages up to 20-40Mbps.
Please note, however, that average speeds remain device and coverage dependent.
MTN LTE
20Mbps MTN Uncapped Pure LTE:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 100GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
50Mbps MTN Uncapped Pure LTE:
- Subject to a monthly threshold of 150GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
100Mbps MTN Uncapped Pure LTE:
- Once you reach 250GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 20Mbps.
- Once you reach 500GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 10Mbps.
- Once you reach the threshold of 1TB, your connection speed will be limited to 1Mbps for the remainder of the month.
Wireless Plus (MTN):
- Once you reach 250GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 50Mbps.
- Once you reach 500GB usage, your connection speed will be limited to 20Mbps.
- Once you reach the threshold of 1TB, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
Telkom LTE
20Mbps Telkom LTE Uncapped:
- First 500GB at 10Mbps.
- Thereafter 50GB at 4Mbps.
- Thereafter unlimited data for the rest of the month at 2Mbps.
30Mbps Telkom LTE Uncapped:
- First 600GB at 20Mbps.
- Thereafter 50GB at 4Mbps.
- Thereafter, unlimited data for the rest of the month at 2Mbps.
Please Note:
To ensure the sustainability and quality of our network for all Clients, MTN as the underlying network provider may implement traffic shaping based on network congestion levels, particularly during peak hours (typically between 18:00 and 23:00).
Network shaping may affect download and upload speeds, latency, or prioritisation of certain traffic types such as video streaming, file sharing, and P2P traffic.
