How to activate Afrihost AirMobile Sim via QR code
AirMobile is a virtual network provided by Afrihost in collaboration with MTN. Our aim with AirMobile is to offer clients a comprehensive and flexible mobile experience. Leveraging the robust MTN network, we bring you a seamless connectivity solution tailored to your preferences.
After signing up for an AirMobile SIM card, you need to activate it.
There are two ways to activate an AirMobile sim card:
- Get a new AirMobile number.
- Port in an existing number to the AirMobile network.
How to get a new AirMobile number
- Open the AirMobile package inside you will find a QR to activate the ‘Sim Card’.
- An activation page will appear, confirm that you're activating the correct sim via ‘Activation code’ under the QR code.
- Select ‘Yes, continue’ to proceed with activation.
- Select ‘Try us out’ to sign up for a new AirMobile number.
- If you’re an existing client, click ‘Log in’ and enter your ClientZone login details.
- If you are a new client, enter your ‘Phone or Email address’ and click ‘Continue’.
- Select an existing RICA contact or add a new one.
- Add a payment method or use an existing one.
- Tick the box to accept the terms and conditions.
- Click ’Complete order’.
- A successful order message will appear. You can manage the AirMobile product in Clientzone or the AirMobile App.
Your order has been placed successfully. You will be notified via email when your SIM card is ready to be used.

How to port an existing number to the AirMobile network.
Porting is when a phone number is transferred from one mobile carrier to another.
If you opted for a physical SIM. Do NOT insert your new SIM card before completing the porting process.
- Open the AirMobile package inside you will find a QR to activate the ‘Sim Card’.
- An activation page will appear, confirm that you're activating the correct sim via ‘Activation code’ under the QR code.
- Select ‘Yes, continue’ to proceed with activation.
- Select ‘Keep your number’ to process a port in request.
- Enter your current mobile number.
- Select your current network provider.
Select ‘Afrihost Pre Feb 2024’ if you are currently using Afrihost services on an MTN SIM card that you signed up for BEFORE FEB 2024.
If you are currently a contract holder with your service provider you will need to cancel your contract in order to port your number over.
- Click ‘Continue’.
- If you’re an existing client, click ‘Log in’ and enter your ClientZone login details.
- If you are a new client, enter your ‘Phone or Email address’ and click ‘Continue’.
- Select an existing RICA contact or add a new one.
- Add a payment method or use an existing one.
- Tick the box to accept the terms and conditions.
- Click ’Complete order’.
- A successful order message will appear. You can manage the AirMobile product on Clientzone or the App.
Your order has been placed successfully. You will be notified via email when your SIM card is ready to be used.
SIM cards will no longer be able to receive messages as they will be disconnected, so you will receive an email instead.
