How to block users via MAC address filtering on your Fixed LTE router

Every device that connects to your network has a unique MAC address, (MAC= media access control), including smartphones, computers, printers, and gaming consoles. The MAC address identifies one device to other devices on the same local network. You can use MAC address filtering to check connected devices, block connected devices, and allow blocked devices back onto the WiFi network.

  • Log into the router.
  • Select ‘Settings’ from the top bar menu.
  • Select ‘WLAN’ from the menu on the left.
  • Below that select ‘WLAN MAC Filter’.

White list Mode.

White list mode is an additional layer of security on your network. Not just any device that has your WiFi password will be able to connect, only white listed devices are allowed to connect. This method is the most secure but least convenient method. Every time a new device needs to connect it will need to be added to the white list via MAC filtering.

Disable MAC filter.

To turn off all the MAC filtering settings, select ‘Disable’. All devices that have your WiFi password will be able to connect to the network again.

  • If you are unsure of the device’s MAC address, scroll down to 'Connected Devices'.
  • Select ‘Block’ next to the device you wish to disconnect from your WiFi.

The blacklisted devices will no longer be able to connect to your WiFi.
